DURING THE PUBLIC CONSULTATION, RESIDENTS ASKED NINE MAJOR QUESTIONS

Knowsley Council will have to be entirely satisfied that Destination Kirkby includes effective proposals for the management of traffic for both the stadium and expanded town centre before granting planning permission. At least £10 million is to be spent on improving road junctions in the immediate vicinity and the development will complement proposed improvements to Kirkby’s bus and train stations. Destination Kirkby is seen as an important factor in the re-emergence of the Mersey Tram project. The stadium itself would be the third ‘Public Transport Stadium’ in the UK after the new Wembley and Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

These proposals will be considered by Knowsley Council’s Planning Committee in spring 2008 and they will take into account any comments you have on this website.
