Destination Kirkby is working with Sport England and others to ensure that open space and playing pitches lost during the development are provided elsewhere in the town. With regards to schools, independently of this process, Knowsley Council has reviewed its education provision and based on predictions of population decided that a smaller number of brand new purpose built schools are needed in Kirkby.

These proposals will be considered by Knowsley Council’s Planning Committee in spring 2008 and they will take into account any comments you have on this website.
